RV OWNERS PLAN TO TRAVEL MORE

America's largest RV & Camping Show will open on September 12th in Hershey, PA at the HERSHEYPARKR Entertainment Complex, Giant CenterSM. Thousands of current RVers will be attending to see what's hot in the industry including the first introduction of the 2008 models! According to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) survey:

o 92 percent of RV owners expect to travel more or about the same this season as they did a year ago.

o 33 percent of RV owners saying they’ll take as many as eight short trips during the winter season.

o Despite the rise in fuel costs, nearly half of the RVers said fuel prices would not affect their travel plans.

o 79 percent of RV owners agree that RVing contributes to their family’s ability to spend more quality time together.

o 99 percent find that RVing significantly lifts their spirits and enhances their emotional well-being.

SENIORS LOVE THE RV LIFESTYLE!

Anthropologists Dorothy and David Counts of Charlotte, N.C. concluded a study that reports that retirees living in RVs are leading contented lives. They state the retirees are looking to lead their lives with freedom and independence and no longer be slaves to their homes. The freedom of coming and going with the turn of a key appeals to many. Visiting family and friends are high on the list of activities the RVers enjoy. Many services are available for those that choose to "be on the move," magazines, educational programs, discount programs, and mail forwarding service to mention a few. For more information for those interested in "full-timing," the Pennsylvania RV & Camping Show offers seminars on living full-time in an RV.

Joe and Vicki Kieva, who are "full timing RVers" will present two seminars daily at the Pennsylvania RV and Camping Show. Their main topics will be "10 Tips for Choosing an RV" and "RV Travel and Camping Tips."

RVing OFFERS QUALITY TIME FOR FAMILIES

Today's busy parents face the challenge of planning family vacations that provide quality time together without breaking the bank! In growing numbers, they're finding the solution to their problem in recreation vehicles (RVs). RVs have become extremely popular for families with children, previously the province of the grandparents. In a study conducted by Louis Harris and Associates, 92% of parents who own RVs said they are the best way to travel with your family or children. The additional opportunity to go on short weekend trips adds to value of owning an RV.

The 39th Annual Pennsylvania RV & Camping Show can answer all those families with "first time RV" questions. There will be over 1300 RVs to compare all the models, prices and options that are available. Plus there will be many seminars offered on everything from traveling with children to purchasing the proper type of insurance.

OWNING AN RV IS NOT JUST FOR RETIREES

The thought that only retirees own an RV is not true anymore! Many families enjoy the RV lifestyle many weekends a year with quick trips, long holiday weekend get-a-ways, family vacations, football tailgate parties, NASCAR trips, plus many more activities that keep the RV family on the road!

Everything from the small pop-up camper to the full size motorhome lets the RVer "Pursue Their Passions" no matter where they are, no matter what they are! No reservations, to schedules, no lines, no lugging luggage.....freedom to "Pursue Your Passions"....let the first move be visiting the Pennsylvania RV & Camping Show and explore the possibilities!

RVs OFFER "CAMARADERIE ON THE ROAD"

Many people new to RVing are surprised by how "social" the lifestyle is. Many thought that you were pretty much on your own. But that is far from the truth. RV travelers have a sense of community that makes every RVer a friend. The proof is that so many camping clubs exist such as The Good Sam Club, Family Campers and RVers, Family Motor Coach Association, Loners on Wheels and Loners of America, just to name a few. For those RVers looking for social benefits, there is plenty of camaraderie on the road.

RVers at any campground already have something in common with any other RVer there. Most RVers love to dicuss their RVing adventures and are anxious to show and share their homes with other RVers.

Dorothy Counts, a professor of anthropology who has studied RVers said, "When RVing, you have your home with you and that means less stress!" As the RV Coalition points out, "Where ever you go, you're always at home!"

When you travel in your RV, you'll find that you are automatically included into the RV family and that help or expertise is always available just for the asking. And as you travel to familiar campgrounds, parks or events that you enjoy the most, over the years, you'll soon notice faces that you know that you've seen before. These folks can become just like family.

Check out the Pennsylvania RV & Camping Show and then become part of the family.
