Allegheny County residents in the western and southern suburbs and Peters Township, Washington County, head to the tolls today to vote for their next state senator.
Following the resignation of Guy Reschenthaler in January, Pennsylvania’s 37###sup/sup### Senatorial District seat will be decided by a special election. Democrat Pam Iovino, Mt. Lebanon, is running against Republican D. Raja of Mt. Lebanon for the seat. Iovino is a Navy veteran who recently served as the director of Allegheny County’s veteran services, while Raja is the founder of Computer Enterprises, Inc. and a board member of the Port Authority of Allegheny County.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today. Anyone in line at 8 p.m. will be permitted to cast their ballot.
