National RV Training Academy Opens

The National RV Training Academy recently opened in Athens, Texas. Terry Cooper, a master certified technician and instructor, envisioned the facility several years ago.

It features four service bays, a conference center, three classrooms, offices and a full kitchen. Students have the opportunity to view work performed from two observation decks. The $1.5 million training facility is located adjacent to the Texan RV Park, so technicians can live in RVs or cabins while going through the training.

“We know the industry is facing a critical shortage of technicians, and we know we will make a difference in the operations of RV dealerships by training technicians. By doing that, we will improve the lives of RV owners by helping them stay on the road to enjoy the RV lifestyle,” Cooper explained to RV Daily Report.
