The Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association is starting the travel season off right by directing consumers to their local RV dealerships and campgrounds with their annual Open House Campaign beginning in April.
“The goal of the Open House campaign,” says Heather Leach, PRVCA Executive Vice President, “is to direct consumers to their local campgrounds and dealerships and expose them to the many benefits of RV ownership and the freedom that traveling by RV provides.”
This year over $150,000 was budgeted for the state-wide advertising campaign which will run from April 23rd – May 19th. The campaign is part of PRVCA’s market expansion and, in addition to the advertising campaign, includes a budget for billboards and other promotions used to promote the industry throughout the year. The campaign utilizes more than 1,700 advertisements on television, radio, and internet, including Google Adwords, and email blasts to over 9,000 consumers. Twenty-nine stations were bought with bonus web exposure on various stations.
The PRVCA Open House television advertisements were comprised from Go RVing stock footage. Both the radio and television ads featured the “Traveling in my RV” jingle while encouraging consumers to visit an RV dealer or campground.
The commercials also directed consumers to the PRVCA website so they can find local dealerships and campgrounds and request the PRVCA membership directory, Explore Pennsylvania, which lists all members, and is loaded with travel destinations and attractions, and fun RVing facts.
Pennsylvania has so much to offer tourists with its unique sites, history and culture. PRVCA hopes RV and Camping month encourages consumers to reap the benefits of RVing and find their way to the dealerships and campgrounds of Pennsylvania.
