The RV Industry Association reported total RV shipments were down again in May, ending the month with 39,724 wholesale shipments, which is down 14.9 percent from the 46,322 units shipped last May.
Towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, shipped 34,838 units for the month, a decrease of 15% compared to last May’s 40,966 units. Motorhomes were down 8.8 percent at 4,886 units shipped compared to 5,356 units in May 2018.
Overall, RV shipments reached 179,943 through May. That’s down 22.1 percent from 230,850 units at this point last year.
Park Model RVs finished the month up 15.5 percent compared to last May with 410 shipments to retailers.
