The RV Industry Association’s board of directors has unanimously approved Salt Lake City to be the kickoff location for a new national industry event, RVX: The RV Experience. The event will take place March 12-14, 2019.
RVX is designed to spark consumer interest by sending them into dealerships across the country. The event will promote the RV lifestyle by bringing the industry together to unveil the latest products, celebrate innovation, and provide inspiration and education to dealers that will drive the RV business forward. The name RVX was chosen to increase the focus of the event on consumer sell-through and capture the innovation and access to the exciting lifestyle that the industry’s products offer.
“RVX is designed to highlight exciting new products, showcase innovation, new technology, and ultimately inspire consumers from across the U.S. and Canada to visit their local dealers,” said Liz Crawford, RVIA senior VP of trade shows and events. “RVX will arm dealers with the tools to help them sell more RVs and engage the industry about what’s coming next just as consumers are out looking for their next adventure.”
Extensive research went into the process to determine the host city for the inaugural event in 2019. Salt Lake City was chosen for its community and outdoor feel as well as its exceptional venues, hotels and amenities for Exhibitors and Attendees. Salt Lake City sits at the crossroads of the west, surrounded by jaw-dropping scenery and an outdoor enthusiast community, and is pulling out all the stops to welcome the growing RV Industry to the region.
“The Events team at RVIA, myself and Dave Schutz of Dometic have been on the road the last two months, visiting over 10 cities across the U.S. to finalize a location for our inaugural year,” said Troy James, president of Dutchmen Mfg., and chairman of RVIA’s trade shows and events committee. “The RV Industry board of director’s approved this new show direction in January, and everything was taken into consideration, including widespread feedback from dealership partners across North America.”
“There were many interested cities vying to host our new 2019 event, but Salt Lake City clearly had the best offering for available show space, timing, lodging and amenities for the roll out,” said Dave Schutz, senior VP of RV OEM sales at Dometic.
An exciting feature of the RVX event will be “The RV Reveal,” which will showcase the latest new models and concepts entering the market and will be live-streamed across multiple media platforms to energize enthusiasts and usher in new consumers to the RV lifestyle.
In addition, RVX will deliver education for all industry segments with a special focus on providing dealers with the tools they need to reach into the consumer market more effectively, highlight and raise awareness of the importance of quality service through the exciting “Top Tech Challenge,” and recognize industry achievement and leadership for the industry’s top dealers and product innovators as well as those forward thinkers during the RV Industry Awards.
“Our mission is to promote and protect the RV industry and our members,” said Bob Parish, VP of Wells Fargo Commercial Distribution Finance, and RVIA’s chairman of the board. “Our industry has a successful buying show, and RVX will be the event to spark consumer interest in the RV lifestyle and provide a platform for dealers and stakeholders to highlight the amazing products and people making a difference in the industry.”
