The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) announced an online, self-paced training program for RV technicians pursuing its Level One course on Tuesday, October 13.
In a letter to the industry, Executive Director Curt Hemmeler wrote that RVTI is unhindered by the effects of the coronavirus and continues its efforts to provide critical training to the RV industry.
“We are currently seeing a seismic shift in how people are educated, and the adoption of new online approaches will make our curriculum accessible to a much larger number of current and future RV technicians,” he wrote. “This on-demand, immersive training platform means technicians will not be held back from pursuing quality education by time, travel or other restrictions.
RVTI currently has 14 Authorized Learning Partners who are delivering the curriculum across the country. They include a school providing training to prison inmates, a job training program, Camping World Technical Institute, the Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle and Camping Association and others.
For RV technicians currently working in the field, RVTI is now providing a thorough proficiency exam to get into their career path based on their current skills. They will also offer Level one and Level two hands-on training courses starting in January 2021 in Elkhart, Indiana. For more information, visit the RVTI website.
