Penn DOT Fees Increase Effective July 1

Act 89 of 2013 provides for adjustments to PennDOT fees, every other year, in accordance with the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The following updates are effective July 1, 2025.

Certificate of Title fees will increase from $67 to $72

Recording of security interest on a title/lien fees will increase from $33 to $36.

Temporary plates will increase from $19 to $20. Dealers are able to markup that fee to issue a temporary plate to $40.00

Safety Inspection Stickers will increase from $11.00 to $12 and the purchase price for the semi-annual stickers will be adjusted from $9.00 to $10.

Registration fees will increase as follows:

• Passenger vehicle registrations from $45 to $48.

• Dealer registrations will increase from $66 to $70.

• Motor home registrations as follows:

• Motorcycle registrations from $24 to $25.

• Motorcycle Dealer registration fees from $33 to $35.

• Motor-Driven Cycle Dealer registration fees from $18 to $19.

• Class 3 trailer registrations from $43 to $46.

• Special mobile equipment registrations from $66 to $70.

• Ambulance, hearse and taxi registrations from $98 to $104.

• Motor Vehicle Messenger Service location main office from $246 to $261.

Registration fees for motor buses and limousines will increase as follows:

• Motor buses and limousines where seating capacity is up to 26 seats from $16 to $17 for each seat.

• Motor buses and limousines where seating capacity is more than 26 but less than 52 - from $414 plus $21 for each seat beyond 26 to $440 plus $22 for each seat beyond 26.

• Motor buses and limousines where seating capacity is more than 51 – from $954 to $1,013.

• The registration fee for school buses and school vehicles from $42 to $45.

• Registration fees for trucks and truck tractors for Class 1 through Class 25. See MV-70S, available at www.paa.org.

Failure to charge the correct fee for registrations with an expiration date of July 2025 or later may result in the application being rejected for insufficient fees.
