Outdoor Recreation Director

Pennsylvania hired its first Director of Outdoor Recreation in 2022. Nathan Reigner is tasked with expanding existing recreational grounds throughout the Commonwealth and promoting the mental and physical health benefits from outdoor activity. His office is within the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

The outdoor recreation economy accounts for 151,531 jobs for $6.8 billion in wages and salaries. In 2021, RVing ranked number 7 on value added Outdoor Recreation Satellite Account. See the report.
