PennDOT logoThe Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) recently announced its contract-required agent services training schedule for 2025. Detailed information about contractual training requirements for agents is located in the “Agent Service Training” fact sheet on PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website at www.pa.gov/dmv.

The Basic Title and Registration Training Course and Advanced Refresher Agent Services Training Course meet the recommended training required for PennDOT contract obligations. However, please note this agent service training course DOES NOT meet notary training requirements set by law. PennDOT says it is confident the money and time you spend to attend this training will be of great value and extremely beneficial in your day-to-day business activities. The training also provides you with the opportunity to meet with your PennDOT representative to discuss any issues.

The Basic Title and Registration Training course is recommended for individuals with one year or less experience completing motor vehicle title work. Topics include: Verification in lieu of notarization; proof of applicant ID, ownership documents and financial responsibility; Pa. address requirements; in-depth coverage of MV-1, MV-4ST, and MV-120 procedures; authorization/extension of temporary registration; VIN requirements; correct calculation for fee increases; audit overview; supplemental title forms; sales and use tax and fee exemption information; powers of attorney; additional title forms; supplemental registration forms, and understanding customer payments.

The Advanced Refresher Agent Services Training Course is recommended for individuals with more than a year of experience completing motor vehicle title work.  Topics include: Verification in lieu of notarization; proof of applicant ID, ownership documents and financial responsibility; Pa. address requirements; Forms MV-1, MV-4ST, and MV-120 overview; authorization/extension of temporary registration; VIN requirements; correct calculation for fee increases; audit overview; powers of attorney and understanding customer payments.

The training is at the Harrisburg Riverfront Office Center and costs $50 per person. It runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. One course of each training is available March - November. Registration is required. No walk-ins are accepted. Download the form and fill it in to select your first and second choice of dates.
