The Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association (PRVCA) recently announced it presented three awards to members to recognize education commitment and volunteer service.

RV Value Mart earned the Gary Bunzer Education Award for the third year in a row. Their staff attended 23 training sessions from September 2023 to August 2024. The most of all PRVCA members.

The award is named in honor of Gary Bunzer, a long-time educator, industry consultant and speaker who passed away in 2020.

PRVCA Education Director James Lubomski presented the award to Dave Shaffer, human resources director for RV Value Mart.

“It’s a lot of great offerings, especially for our technicians,” Shaffer said. “They attend some of the virtual training as well as the live training.”

Shaffer recommends all members participate in the training.

“For the most part it’s free,” he said. “Why wouldn’t you take advantage of it.”

Steve Fretz, owner of Fretz RV, was named the Rebecca Lenington Volunteer of the Year. Fretz has volunteered for the association for many years. He serves a show chairman and a member of the education and legislative committees. In addition, he is the industry representative on the Pennsylvania Licensure Board.

Heather Leach, PRVCA executive director, visited Fretz RV to present the award.

“It’s nice to give back to the industry,” Fretz said.

The award is named to honor retired PRVCA Executive Rebecca Lenington.

Greg Starr, Starr’s Trailer Sales, recently completed a two-year term as PRVCA chairman. New chairman, Nick Boyer, presented him with the chairman’s award and thanked him for his service during the December board meeting.
