The Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle & Camping Association had a very busy training schedule this winter. Instructor Chris Dougherty towed the new Training and Education RV to four locations to present Level 1 RV technician training.

Technicians trained at Keller Marine & RV in Port Trevorton, Pa., Reading, Pa., Boyer RV in Erie, Pa. and Gettysburg, Pa.

The five-day training provides the knowledge and skills for technicians to complete a pre-delivery inspection, including the basics of propane, electrical and water systems, appliances, generators, chassis and body. Following the course completion, technicians tested to obtain their level 1 certification.

If you missed out on this training and would like to schedule a future training in your area, please contact James Lubomski.

Mike Sokol presented on Electrical Systems during a seven-class webinar series starting in December. The Basic RV technician seminars featured three hour-long sessions discussing Multi-Meter Theory and Use; Clamp-meter Theory and Use, and Advanced Testers and Basic Maintenance. In late January – February 7, Sokol presented three one-hour webinars on the Type of Power Company Services; RV Upgrades and Maintenance, and Advanced Testing Techniques. The final two sessions focused on campground maintenance. They included Basic Campground Power Testing and Maintenance and Advanced Campground Power.

On January 28 and 29, PRVCA hosted the annual Leadership Conference at The Central Hotel Harrisburg Best Western Premier in Harrisburg, Pa. The 6th Annual Conference focused on Teamwork and Cooperation. This is the 3rd seminar in a five-part Leadership series presented by the Pennsylvania College of Technology, a Penn State Affiliate.

The association hosted RV Weight, Tires and Matching Tow Vehicles to Trailers and Truck Campers on February 26 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Trey Selman of the RV Safety & Education Foundation presented this important training for RV technicians.

PRVCA also partnered with Lippert Components to offer two training sessions in Hershey and Phoenixville, Pa. The topics included Level Up Leveling, Lippert axles and solar.
