Education Days and the Show Preview Day had strong participation with nearly 500 people attending America’s Largest RV Show September 14-15.
The two Education Days, presented by the Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle and Camping Association (PRVCA), featured training for RV technicians. Day one topics included Ground Monitor Interrupters (GMI), RV Roofs and Sealants, Dexter Axle RV Axles and Electronic Breaking Systems, Troubleshooting WFCO Technologies 12 and 120-volt systems, and RV Weight, Tires and Matching Tow Vehicles to Trailers and Truck Campers. Day two featured Lippert Slimrack Slide-outs/Motorized Leveling, RV ventilation, Dexter Axle Advanced Suspension and Brake Service, Truma Aquago, Aventa and Combi RV technician training, Dometic Freshjet 5 A/C Installation and Troubleshooting.
PRVCA also hosted Lippert Titan Leveling, Furrion A/C and Sureslide Slide-Out technician training and Advanced 120-Volt and 12-Volt Troubleshooting at the Hershey Lodge.
“We were very pleased with the turnout for industry days,” says Heather Leach, PRVCA executive director. “It was a nice mix of the industry, media and content creators. It’s always rewarding to hold the preview day to reconnect with the industry and offer the training for technicians, while allowing the media and content creators time to see the new RVs and visit the vendors before the public days.”

Bill Snider of Dexter Axle talks to Reading-Muhlenberg Career and Technical Education students about technician careers in the RV industry during Education Days at America's Largest RV Show.

Jeff Wertz of Spartan RV Chassis talked to students from Williamsport Area High School Career and Technical Education Program about their chassis and careers in the industry during America's Largest RV Show education days.

Three high school career and technical education (CTE) programs brought students to learn more about careers in the RV industry. Reading-Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center, Shippensburg Area High School CTE and Williamsport Area High School CTE attended show preview day with nearly 75 students. James Lubomski, PRVCA education director; Steven Raye, Phoenix Fire & RV Training; and Brian Harris, Venture On Mobile RV Repair, led the tours, which included stops at Cummins, Freightliner, Spartan RV Chassis, Dexter Axle, and time to explore the different RV manufacturers and talk to dealers.
“This is a great opportunity for students who might not have had exposure to the RV industry,” says James Lubomski, PRVCA education director. “It’s our hope that these tours will have an impact on their future career decisions and encourage them to explore the industry.”
