Ray WherleyThe Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle & Camping Association (PRVCA) is saddened to report the death of Ray Wherley, 71, who retired from the association last year.

Wherley was a valued staff member at PRVCA for more than 27 years. He worked on the show layout, industry program and signs through the years. He was very active in assisting dealers and manufacturers with moving their RVs into place for America's Largest RV Show® and helped put the show together behind the scenes. He also designed the official show t-shirt, which helps the association raise money for its political action committee. Unofficially, Wherley served as the association's cartoonist and he designed the Christmas card for many years.

"Ray always kept the staff entertained by offering a corny joke and providing updates on the wildlife around his home in Knoxville," said PRVCA Executive Director Heather Leach. "Manufacturers, dealers and staff always appreciated his assistance and friendship. He will be missed."

Wherley retired August 3, 2024 and was able to travel to Paris and Alaska last fall.

Ray is survived by his children, Jennifer (Jonathan) Morris of Norman, OK and William (Alix) Wherley of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Logan and Adam Morris and Maddox and Quintin Wherley; siblings, Rodney Wherley, Lorraine Eck and Roger Wherley and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held at a later date.
