In an effort to clarify the RV-specific chapter in the Board of Vehicles Act, the Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association (PRVCA) Legislative Committee worked with the association's government relations firm, Milliron Goodman & Associates, this year to draft legislation to amend the Act. 

Senate Bill 1161 was introduced on May 1, 2024. It is sponsored by Senator Chris Gehard (R-Berks, Lancaster, Lebanon), who is the chairman of the Tourism (Community, Recreation and Economic Development) Committee and the Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee.

The bill clarifies the RV specific legislation in the Board of Vehicles Act, including warranties and warranty labor rates. It also eliminates one dealer popup RV shows.

The amended language will provide more consistent rate setting and prices.

Pop-up RV Events:

The bill was referred to the Senate Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee. It has not received a vote at presstime. A companion bill was introduced in the House of Representatives by Rep. Scott Conklin (D-Centre). If the bills do not pass, they will have to be reintroduced in the next session.
