Dometic to Close Pennsylvania Plant

Dometic logoMarine Acquisition, Inc., doing business as Dometic, plans to close its Limerick, Pennsylvania plant and move the business to Tennessee.

The company filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry informing the state that it plans to close the facility, located at 640 N. Lewis Road, Limerick, Pa., by December 31. According to the filing, the closure will impact 89 people, including 39 assembly workers.

In a statement to PennLive.com, the company said the closure is part of its strategy to consolidate its manufacturing footprint. The Pennsylvania business will relocate to the company’s Sparta, Tennessee facility, which it says will optimize its capacity, provide operational efficiency and strengthen its competitiveness.

The company announced plans to close two manufacturing facilities and five distribution centers in 2024.

Dometic is based in Sweden and operates 23 manufacturing and assembly sites in 11 countries. Its products include items such as coolers, drinkware, grills, chairs, inflatable tents and storage systems as well as kitchen appliances.
