Q: I have a dealer asking if the tire and tax pertains to trailers and tow behinds. Do they pay when they sell?

A: Yes. Trailer tires are considered suitable for highway use, as they are specifically marked with an "ST" (Special Trailer) designation on the sidewall, indicating their intended use for trailers on highways. (View chapter 47 of the vehicle code.)
